Travel Alert
Switzerland maintaining COVID-19 measures as of Sept. 2; domestic and international entry restrictions remain in effect.
Dear Corporate Clients,
Swiss authorities are maintaining measures imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Sept. 2.
Nonessential travel is generally permitted from EU and Schengen Area countries, in addition to Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Macau, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Ukraine, and the US. Travelers from these countries arriving via air must have proof of vaccination against COVID-19, evidence of recovery from COVID-19 between 10 days and six months before entry, or a negative result from a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 72 hours or 48 hours before entry, respectively. Travelers arriving from these countries by other means may enter without restriction. An online questionnaire providing detailed entry requirements based on individual travel itineraries is available here.
Nonessential travel from all other countries is permitted for fully vaccinated travelers only; non-vaccinated travelers arriving for essential purposes must present a negative result from a PCR test taken in the previous 72 hours or a negative antigen test taken in the previous 48 hours. All permitted travelers arriving by air must also fill out an online entry form before arrival, available here.
Domestic Restrictions
Nonessential businesses and services are permitted to operate subject to capacity and social distancing requirements. Mass events are permitted without a size cap provided all attendees are vaccinated, recovered from, or have tested negative for COVID-19. Facemasks remain mandatory in enclosed public spaces.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
